Myspace Crossposter Plugin for Wordpress

For all of the bands that are using wordpress to power their website, here is another neat little tool to save you some time. The Myspace Crossposter Plugin for Wordpress allows any Myspace user (not just bands) to simultaneously post to their Myspace blog when publishing a new Wordpress post. Now you only have to worry about posting news in one location!

Speaking of ways to interact with Myspace (while not actually having to go there), the Myspace API has officially been released and I have started to mess with it. Functionality is pretty limited right now, but maybe in the future they will add more features. I want to see (or build..wink wink) a centralized web app for bands that will interact with all of these different sites making it easier for bands to update content.

Using Wordpress to Run a Band Website

Recently I was asked to design a website for a local drummer in Rochester NY. He is fairly well known for being a great drummer, and he actually has laid down some drum tracks for us. Being the nice guy that I am, I offered to host and set up the site for free in return for him playing drums for us.

This is not the first time I have been asked to set up a band site, but this is the first time I am actually not in the band, so if something breaks or needs updating, I won’t be around to help. So ease of use was my first priority.
